Thanks for the link, kaNd. I love a good, clever joke... you know, as opposed to the default, gross-out humor so prevalent that has nothing clever about it.

One of my old favorites, which my dad got out of Reader's Digest many, many years ago was this:

A Texas rancher goes to visit Vermont (New England.) He's walking along a country road enjoying the scenery when he sees a Vermont farmer working at the edge of his property. He goes up to the man, they start talking, and the Texan says, "So, how big is your property?" The Vermont farmer points to several nearby landmarks. "Along this fenceline to that big oak tree," he says, "and back from there to the creek, and along the creek back to my barn."

The Texan, figuring he'll impress the Vermonter, replies, "Why, where I live, I can jump in my truck at daybreak, ride hard all day, and by evening I still haven't reached the other side of my spread."

The Vermont farmer shakes his head in sympathy. "I used to have a truck like that, too," he says. "But I got rid of it."
