Small loans for big help

I'm copying this from Kiva site as I don't feel entitled to communicate other people's addies. You can loan from US$ 25.00. A good way to share.

Kiva is at http://www.kiva.org/app.php

"I just made a loan to someone in the developing world using a revolutionary new website called Kiva.

"You can go to Kiva's website and lend to someone in the developing world who needs a loan for their business - like raising goats, selling vegetables at market or making bricks. Each loan has a picture of the entrepreneur, a description of their business and how they plan to use the loan so you know exactly how your money is being spent - and you get updates letting you know how the entrepreneur is going.

"The best part is, when the entrepreneur pays back their loan you get your money back - and Kiva's loans are managed by microfinance institutions on the ground who have a lot of experience doing this, so you can trust that your money is being handled responsibly."

Thank you! I've heard of this, but didn't know where to find them! I'm delighted to be able to help sponsor a bookstore.

I've heard of this but couldn't remember the name of the organization, so thank you so much for posting this! I went ahead and loaned money to a pharmacy because it's important to help fight malaria in Africa. :)

I think this is a fantastic concept. I'll make sure to check the website regularly to help others in need, if at all possible for me financially. :)
